The Morning Star Choir
In the first 60 or 65 years of St. Joseph's Parish the Morning Star Choir included anywhere from 15 to 45 voices. The choir was not only active in singing at events hosted by various Polish National Catholic parishes in Connecticut and elsewhere, but also at various programs put on by local Polish-American organizations. The choir even performed one year at the World's Fair in New York City.
Today the Morning Star Choir includes four members who sing beautiful four-part harmony during high holy days (Easter, Pentecost and Christmas) and on a special parish occasions.
For over 20 years now the liturgy and worship at St. Joseph's includes for the most part congregational singing. At the High Mass on Sundays and on major holy days vocalists will sing special hymns that are either solos or duets.
The name Morning Star comes from the Holy Bible in the books of Sirach (50:6), Second Peter (1:19) and Revelation (2:28; 22:16).
